Growing up in Lebanon, Ohio, Heather Stegner discovered a love of cooking and baking for her family from an early age. She truly found her passion for cake decorating after baking her daughter’s first birthday cake in 1993. Heather signed up for a local beginner’s cake decorating class in 1995 and began a home baking business called, Heavenly Heather’s in 1996. Heavenly Heather’s created cakes and sweets for businesses and loyal customers until 1999. It was at this time that she moved with her husband and two children to Centerville, In. Heather worked as a medical assistant for 15 years, baking as a hobby for family and friends. On occasion, she entered her sweets into a few baking contests winning, Best Cookie in a Centerville cookie contest, Best Chocolate Cake in a Richmond chocolate contest, and winner of fruit desserts with her Caramel Apple Cake in Waynesville, Ohio.

In 2013, Heather became the owner of the Oliver P. Gaar mansion located at 1307 E. Main Street in Richmond, IN. One look inside, and she knew this was the place to continue her love of baking. She enrolled in the prestigious Bonnie Gordon College Of Confectionery Arts in Toronto. Here, she completed the Designer Cakes Certificate Program with honors.

Heather began Queen Bee Confections in her pursuit of all things sweet. She uses only the highest quality ingredients to ensure your cakes taste as decadent as they look. Heather uses ingredients you can pronounce and makes everything from scratch. She believes everyone can have their cake and eat it too-even if that cake is gluten, grain, dairy, egg or dye free! Queen Bee Confections looks forward to creating a one of a kind sweet just for you!
